“Four More to Go” is a driving swing tune with some really great chord changes. It has a lot of forward momentum in the harmony and the shout chorus is based on the classic jazz turnaround, which builds into a nice climax. It’s got some nice saxophone sections and the improvising is open for any saxophone player.

On the Ending Earth
“On the Ending Earth” is an original composition written in the classic big band ballad style. This tasty tune is inspired in part by Mingus ballads, and provokes thoughts of big band nostalgia. It features the solo flugelhorn, with some juicy sax section parts and gentle brass playing. Use this chart to educate your students on the classic big band sound.
